Premier League 5 round-up: results, scorers and table

Manchester City remain the only team with a perfect record in the Premier League. Goals from Enzo Fernández, Rayan Cherki, Antoine Semenyo and Erling Haaland saw them beat Sunderland 5-3, moving them to 15 points from five wins in five games at the top of the table.

The biggest scoreline of the round belongs to Brighton & Hove Albion, who thrashed Arsenal 3-0 thanks to goals from Pascal Groß, Charalampos Kostoulas and Chema Andrés. Despite the defeat, Arsenal stay second on 12 points.

There was also a comeback win for Aston Villa at Tottenham Hotspur. Villa raced into a three-goal lead before Spurs pulled two back late on, but it wasn't enough to avoid a 3-2 defeat.

Matchday review

Tottenham Hotspur 2-3 Aston Villa: Villa surged ahead through Johan Manzambi in the 45th minute, plus first-half stoppage time, Nicolas Jackson (67') and Emiliano Buendía (79'). Tottenham fought back late with goals from Conor Gallagher (86') and Jan Paul van Hecke (90'+8), but couldn't complete the turnaround.

Everton 1-0 Ipswich Town: Thierno Barry's 11th-minute strike settled it. Ipswich were reduced to ten men after Abdul Fatawu Issahaku was sent off in the 67th minute.

Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0 Arsenal: Pascal Groß opened the scoring in the 31st minute, Charalampos Kostoulas doubled the lead just before half-time, and Chema Andrés wrapped it up in the 57th minute.

Newcastle United 2-1 Hull City: Newcastle flew out of the blocks with goals from Joe Willock (3') and Lewis Hall (7'). Mohamed-Ali Cho pulled one back for Hull in the 67th minute.

Nottingham Forest 0-1 Coventry City: Jay Dasilva's goal in the 55th minute proved decisive.

Leeds United 0-0 Crystal Palace: no goals in this one.

AFC Bournemouth 0-1 Liverpool: Alexander Isak's 57th-minute goal was enough for the win.

Manchester City 5-3 Sunderland: a thrilling contest. City led through Enzo Fernández (9'), before Brian Brobbey equalised (12'). Rayan Cherki restored City's lead (29'), only for Brobbey to level again (33'). Antoine Semenyo then struck twice, in the 43rd and 57th minutes, before Brobbey completed his hat-trick in the 59th minute to make it 4-3. Erling Haaland sealed the win in the 81st minute.

Fulham 1-1 Manchester United: Fulham went ahead through a Lisandro Martínez own goal in the 63rd minute, before Matheus Cunha equalised for United in the 89th minute.

The table

Manchester City lead the way with a perfect record: 15 points from five games, 13 goals scored and just 5 conceded. Arsenal remain second on 12 points despite their defeat to Brighton, who climb to third on 10 points with a highly productive attack, 16 goals in five matches.

A large group of teams sit between 8 and 9 points: Brentford, Leeds United, Liverpool and Everton all have 9, while Hull City and Newcastle United have 8. Newcastle have already conceded 9 goals, a sign their defence needs work despite a strong attacking return.

At the bottom, things remain tight for several sides. Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur prop up the table with just 2 points each, just behind Coventry City on 3, who have scored only once in five matches.
