Celta de Vigo 5-0 Racing Santander: Pablo Durán brace seals rout

Celta de Vigo thrashed Racing Santander 5-0 at the Abanca-Balaídos in LaLiga matchday 7. Hugo González's penalty, goals from Ilaix Moriba and Miguel Román, and a late Pablo Durán brace settled the game.

The match

A VAR check on Ferran Jutglà came in the 28th minute. Celta went ahead from the spot four minutes later, with Hugo González converting the penalty for 1-0.

Ilaix Moriba doubled the lead in the 43rd minute, finishing off an assist from Miguel Román. Javi Rueda was booked in first-half stoppage time and was replaced at the start of the second half along with Hugo González, with Sergio Carreira and Pablo Durán coming on.

Racing reshuffled with a triple substitution in the 63rd minute: André Almeida, Álvaro Mantilla and Pablo García made way for Sergio Canales, Aarón Martín and Asier Villalibre. Celta also made a change at that point, sending on Borja Iglesias for Ferran Jutglà, before bringing on Javi Galán for Williot Swedberg a minute later.

The game was effectively over by the 69th minute, when Miguel Román made it 3-0. Racing kept picking up cards throughout, with Yassir Zabiri (57'), Jeanuël Belocian (64'), Pablo Ramón (75'), and later Sergio Canales and Iñigo Vicente in stoppage time all booked.

Pablo Durán scored his first of the night in the 78th minute, assisted by Hugo Álvarez, for 4-0. In second-half stoppage time, Durán completed his brace with another assist from Hugo Álvarez, sealing the 5-0 final score.
