The match

Napoli wrapped up the contest in the first half after a dramatic sequence midway through the opening 45 minutes. In the 27th minute, Rasmus Højlund had his penalty saved, but a VAR review led to the spot-kick being retaken. Kevin De Bruyne stepped up this time and converted in the 29th minute to put the hosts ahead.

Napoli doubled their lead shortly after: Noa Lang scored in the 32nd minute to make it 2-0, a score that held until half-time.

Napoli then rotated their side with a string of substitutions: Lucca and McTominay replaced Højlund and Neres in the 61st minute, Gilmour came on for Lobotka in the 71st, and Giovane replaced Lang in the 72nd.
