Real Sociedad beat Valencia 3-2 at Mestalla in LaLiga's matchday 7, in a game settled deep into stoppage time.

The match

Valencia started with two early bookings: Justin de Haas in the 11th minute, José Gayà in the 12th. Real Sociedad opened the scoring in the 26th minute through Luka Sucic, assisted by Job Ochieng, for 0-1.

At half-time Valencia brought on David Otorbi for Filip Ugrinic. Sucic was booked in the 54th minute. Three minutes later Valencia levelled through Aaron Ndive Mayol de la Cueva, assisted by Hugo Duro, making it 1-1.

Real Sociedad reacted with a double substitution in the 61st minute, sending on Ander Barrenetxea for Job Ochieng and Orri Óskarsson for Mikel Oyarzabal. Valencia responded by bringing on Harvey Elliott for Guido Rodríguez, while Real Sociedad completed their changes with Yangel Herrera and Aihen Muñoz, both in the 69th minute.

The 75th minute proved decisive as Carlos Soler converted a penalty to put Real Sociedad ahead 2-1. Valencia pushed for an equaliser with substitutes Aimar Blázquez and Jesús Vázquez introduced in the 82nd minute, and levelled the score in the 84th minute through an own goal by Luken Beitia, making it 2-2.

Late on, Real Sociedad used their final substitution, Arsen Zakharyan, while Valencia brought on Luis Rioja. In the first minute of stoppage time, Ander Barrenetxea struck the winner, assisted by Carlos Soler, for the final 2-3. In the 96th minute, Orri Óskarsson was sent off after picking up a second yellow card.
